Terms of Service
version: 2026-09-23. English only.
These Terms govern your use of HostDC ("the Service", "we", "us"), a platform that runs Discord bots you write. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What HostDC does
- You bring the source code of a Discord bot (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, Rust, C# or PHP) and we run it 24/7 inside an isolated, resource-limited sandbox on our servers. HostDC is made for Discord bots; small always-on scripts may run here too, under the same rules.
- Bots run in their own sandbox with RAM, CPU and process limits. Raw sockets are not allowed.
- Every plan is hosted on the same infrastructure. Plans differ only in the resource pool you get, the reactivation rule, the web port feature, the snapshot retention and ads. The pools are: Free 256 MB RAM, 0.5 CPU and 512 MB storage; Mini 512 MB RAM, 0.75 CPU and 2 GB storage; Lite 1 GB RAM, 1 CPU and 5 GB storage; Pro 2 GB RAM, 2 CPU and 10 GB storage; Max 4 GB RAM, 3 CPU and 20 GB storage.
- We may change limits, features and these Terms. Material changes are announced on the site or by email at least 7 days before they take effect.
2. Your account
- Minimum age: 14. If you are younger, you may not use the Service.
- You need a verified email address, or a Discord account with a verified email. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- One free account per person. Creating extra accounts to obtain extra free pools ("multi-accounting") leads to suspension of every account involved. Accounts cannot be merged.
- We may require an invite code during the soft launch.
- Referrals. When an account you referred verifies its email and keeps a bot running for 1 hour, both accounts get +128 MB RAM for 30 days. At most 3 referrals per calendar month earn you a bonus; further referrals that month are recorded but earn nothing. Bonuses held at the same time are capped at 256 MB. A referral between accounts signed up from the same network within 7 days of each other does not count, and referring your own extra accounts is multi-accounting.
3. Reactivation, grace and deletion
- Free bots reactivate by pressing Reactivate on your dashboard every 7 days, or with the one-time link in the reminder email or Discord DM, which needs no sign-in and works until that period's grace window ends. Each reactivation first asks for a short check: a captcha, or, if you accepted ads, watching an ad for 5 seconds. Mini, Lite, Pro and Max bots do not need reactivation while the subscription is paid.
- After a reactivation period lapses you get a 1 hour grace window. When the grace window ends, your bots pause until you reactivate. Nothing is deleted then.
- After a paid plan ends. If your bots no longer fit the Free pool, they stop and
their files are kept for 30 days, or 14 days
after you confirm you downloaded them, whichever comes first; then they are deleted
together with the
/appdata. You can download a ZIP of all your bot files from the dashboard at any time before that; subscribing again before the date keeps everything. - Inactive Free accounts. Inactivity is counted from your last visit. Days 0 to 30: nothing happens to your bots, and we send warning emails. At day 30 your bots stop and their files are packed into a ZIP archive, kept on the server that ran them. From day 30 to day 60 you can download the archive or restore your bots with one click. We email you before day 60. At day 60 the archive and the inactive account are deleted. Any visit resets the clock. An open support ticket, a live add-on or a pending payment pauses it, and so does site maintenance. This also applies to an account that is back on Free after a paid plan, counted from the end of the paid period. The periods can change; we announce changes in advance. Records we must keep by law, such as invoices, are kept.
- Deleted source code is kept for a 30 day hold so you can ask us to restore it. This applies to bots you delete yourself as well. After the hold, it is gone.
4. Payment
- Paid plans are subscriptions: Lite $1.69, Pro $2.49 and Max $4.49 per month in US dollars, and Mini $9.99 per year (Mini is billed yearly only). Where yearly billing is offered, a yearly subscription costs Lite $16.99, Pro $24.99 and Max $48.99 per year; where quarterly billing is offered, you can also pay every 3 months at the price shown on the pricing page. Plans are charged in US dollars, euros or pounds depending on where you are, at the amounts shown on the pricing page; the amount and currency are shown on the order overview before you pay. Checkout may also show US dollar prices in your local currency, converted by Stripe at a rate that includes a small conversion fee; you can choose to pay in US dollars instead.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card or bank details. You can pay with the methods Checkout offers you, for example a card, a wallet or a bank debit. Stripe charges automatically once per billing period (a month, 3 months or a year) until you cancel. A plan or add-on starts once its payment has cleared; a bank debit can take a few working days. Each successful payment extends your plan by 31 days for a monthly, 92 days for a quarterly and 366 days for a yearly subscription, so a renewal charge that arrives a little late does not interrupt the plan.
- Moving up (to a bigger plan, for example Lite to Pro, or to a longer billing period) changes your subscription at once: you pay the difference for the rest of the current period straight away, and we show you the amount before you confirm. To move down, cancel and order again when the paid period ends.
- Add-ons (extra RAM, extra storage, a dedicated proxy) are separate monthly subscriptions on top of a plan, at the price shown when you order them. They follow the same rules as a plan subscription: cancellation (section 5), withdrawal (section 6) and refunds.
- No VAT is charged (small business).
- A payment is matched to the account you were signed in as when you started the checkout, or to the email you paid with. If a payment cannot be matched to an account within 24 hours, contact us and we will link it by hand.
- Refunds. If you are a consumer, you can withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of concluding it (section 6). Beyond that statutory right there are no refunds.
- Support tips are voluntary contributions towards our server costs. They buy no service, plan or feature and do not change your plan. If you want a tip back, contact us and we will look at it.
- Pro trial. Each person can try Pro for free once, for 3 days, without a card: one trial per account and per email address, and none from a network address that started a trial in the last 90 days. The trial ends by itself and nothing is charged. When it ends without a subscription, the account returns to Free exactly as when a subscription lapses (next bullet). We send a reminder before it ends.
- If a subscription lapses, the account returns to the Free pool. Bots above the Free pool stop; nothing is deleted before the 30 days of section 3 have passed.
5. Cancellation
- You can cancel a subscription at any time, with no notice period, effective at the end of the period you already paid for. No further charges are made after that.
- Cancel with the "Cancel contracts here" button on your account page, or without
logging in through the topic "Cancellation" on the contact page (
/cancel). You get a confirmation of the date, time and content of your cancellation by email. You can also cancel from the billing portal on your account page, or by email to the contact address in section 12. - Your right to terminate for good cause is not affected.
6. Right of withdrawal
- If you are a consumer, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of concluding the contract. A subscription is concluded with its first payment; renewals continue the same contract and do not start a new withdrawal period. The details and the model withdrawal form are in the withdrawal information.
- A plan starts as soon as the payment goes through, because at checkout you expressly ask us to start before the withdrawal period ends. If you then withdraw, you pay for the days already provided and we refund the rest: amount paid x unused days / the days the payment covers (31 for a month, 92 for 3 months, 366 for a year), rounded down to the cent. A day counts as provided once it has started. Nothing else is deducted.
- Signed in, you withdraw with "Withdraw from contract" on your account page: the
refund is paid at once, the subscription ends and the account returns to the Free plan.
Without an account, or for anything else, use the topic "Withdrawal" on the contact page
(
/withdraw) and we refund within 14 days.
7. What you may run
- Anything illegal or against these Terms is not allowed. Accounts that break this rule are reviewed, and if a violation is confirmed, the person behind them is blocked from all HostDC services.
- The following content and activities are prohibited. Hosting, distributing, promoting
or facilitating any of them through the Service leads to the immediate termination of the
account and all of its bots, without prior warning, and the person behind the account is
blocked from all HostDC services:
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors;
- the sale or distribution of illegal drugs or controlled substances;
- trafficking in weapons or explosives;
- terrorist or violent extremist content;
- malware, ransomware, credential stealers and phishing;
- fraud, scams, carding and money laundering;
- doxxing, harassment, stalking and non-consensual intimate imagery;
- human trafficking;
- illegal gambling;
- piracy and other copyright infringement;
- DDoS attacks, port or vulnerability scanning and other attacks on third parties;
- cryptocurrency mining;
- spam, scraping tools and invite farms;
- anything else that is illegal under German law or under the law that applies to you.
- Content involving child sexual abuse material is reported to the competent authorities, such as NCMEC and law enforcement.
- Bots must also comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Developer Policy.
- Bots have full internet access, rate-limited to 10 Mbit/s and 50 MB per minute. You are responsible for the traffic your bot generates and for anything it stores or sends.
- A bot may install at most 50 packages.
- Pro and Max bots may serve an HTTP port on a subdomain of
hostedon.hostdc.xyzor of another ending we offer, limited to 60 requests per second, 10 MB per request body and 30 seconds per request. You are responsible for what you serve there, including its legality and its content. - Pages on these addresses are run by the user who owns the bot, not by HostDC. Names that imitate Discord, payment or login pages or HostDC are not allowed. Anyone can report such a page through the report form.
- We may inspect hosted code, files and logs when we investigate abuse or answer a support request. See the Privacy Policy.
8. Availability, backups and data loss
- We aim for high availability but make no uptime guarantee and offer no SLA.
- Snapshots of a bot's
/appvolume are best-effort: on Free weekly, kept 1 day; on Mini daily, kept 2 days; on Lite daily, kept 4 days; on Pro daily, kept 7 days; on Max daily, kept 14 days. A snapshot is only taken while the bot is running. Platform backups are taken nightly and stored locally on the same machine. There is no offsite copy. - If a node dies and neither a snapshot nor a transferable copy survives, your bot's
code and environment are restored and
/appstarts empty. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot lose.
9. Ads
- Sponsored ads are shown to everyone, on every plan: pictures from sponsors we choose, and our own "Advertise here" card, each marked as an ad. They appear on the dashboard, on your bot's pages and on some public pages of the website.
- Google ads are shown only to visitors and to accounts on Free. Accounts on a paid plan (Mini, Lite, Pro or Max), and during a Pro trial, see no Google ads, only sponsored ads.
- Ads never appear in the code editor, the console or on the sign-in and registration pages. See the Privacy Policy for what the ad network sets.
10. Suspension and termination
- We may suspend an account immediately for abuse, payment fraud, or a credible legal complaint, and will tell you why. You may appeal by ticket or by mailing the contact address below.
- To enforce these Terms we may block an account, which ends its sessions, stops its bots and refuses a new registration with the same address. We may also block IP addresses or networks from reaching the Service at all.
- Sign-in and registration may require a captcha check (Cloudflare Turnstile) to keep automated sign-ups and password guessing out.
- You may delete your account at any time in Account → Delete. The 30 day code hold of section 3 applies.
11. Liability
- The Service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or damage caused by your bot.
- Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Contact and abuse
- General questions: support@hostdc.xyz. Each mail opens a support ticket automatically, and you get an acknowledgement with the ticket number.
- Abuse reports: abuse@hostdc.xyz. We respond within 3 business days. Include the bot's public ID or the subdomain if you have it.
13. Law
- These Terms are governed by German law. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not take away the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you have your habitual residence.
